Sgt. Joseph Gonzalez - Peer Network Mentor/Advisor
Joseph Gonzalez served 10 honorable years (2005-2015) in the United States Marine Corps, where he ended his military career as a Sergeant of Marines. He has had the privilege of working with fixed-winged aircraft such as the FA-18 Hornet, EA-6B Prowler, and Harrier Jump Jet. In addition, he also maintained rotary aircraft which included the AH-1Z Viper, UH-1Y Venom, and CH-53 Super Stallion. Throughout his professional career in the aviation community, Joseph Gonzalez has held billets such as Staff Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge (SNCOIC) of his unit, Quality Assurance/Control Representative for Type/Model/Series (TMS) of stated aircraft, Work Center Supervisor, Egress Instructor, and Collateral Duty.
NCOIC. Joseph Gonzalez was also a Combat Marksmanship Trainer/Coach, a Marine Corps Martial Arts Instructor (Black Belt), and a 2015 Pacific Division Shooting Champion.
His education includes an Associate of Supervisory Leadership (Hawaii Pacific University), a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management, Cum Laude (University of Texas of the Permian Basin), and a Master of Business Administration in Management, Magna Cum Laude (University of Texas of Permian Basin).
Currently, Joseph Gonzalez is the Veteran Services Coordinator for The Military Veteran Peer Network of Midland and Ector County. He organizes and coordinates peer to peer services, support groups, counseling/mentoring, and referrals to organizations who assist service members, veterans, and their families. Also, Joseph develops, plans, and executes all training required by the Texas Veterans Commission to maintain compliance with state laws, policies, and procedures, while establishing a networking structure within the community to organizations who provide resources to these individuals. He is also a Mental Health First Aid Instructor, and liaison for the Texas Veterans Treatment Court of Midland County. Joseph is also a member of the Midessa Coalition, Permian Basin Veteran Coalition, Senior Life Advisory Board Member, and Legal Aid of North-West Texas Board Member.
